Sirocco Percussion Dance

Sirocco Percussion Dance was written for a modern dance production last year called Sirocco that involves a village in a third world country where, in this piece. the dancers represent villagers working hard at their rhythmic everyday activities. (More of my Sirocco score can be found on my web site under the "Compositions" button, then inside the "Listen Only" button.) This music is making use of some very unusual percussion sounds found within the "ethnic percussion" library of the Garritan Jazz and Big Band instrumental voices. Everything you hear I have programmed into the fully-notated score, including all durations, attacks, dynamics, articulations etc. It is played back entirely by the virtuoso players who live within my computer, in the Garritan Jazz & Big Band instrumental sounds, and this recording is what the audience listened to during the dance performances. The above public domain photo I have chosen is from the coastline of a visually intriguing third-world country.
