"This suite has been drawn from a larger work written, for the most part, in the 1980s, for my first music computer, the Yamaha CX5M. That work is a Liturgical Year titled Das Yamahabüchlein, containing a total of twenty-four chorale preludes, all being reimplementations of Lutheran chorales as harmonized by J.S. Bach. I have retained, for the most part, Bach's bass lines, but have completely reworked the harmonies both contrapuntally and rhythmically."
