This drawing of the forest trees, birds, and ground carries a transcendental concept. There is a conversational exchange between all of the living things in this natural environment. All that is seen or heard is absorbed and carried by the air, wind, and birds. In my setting of the music, I liken the flute to Bosh's "hearing forest," and the bassoon to the "seeing field." The harp is the transmitter, representing air and wind, while the birds receive and carry the messages along.
